If the individual's intentions are unclear, his/her organs can now be donated with the family consent. It is important to discuss, with your family, whether or not you want to donate your organs after death, and to openly express your intentions. Organ Donation Decision Cards, or Organ Donor Cards, are being widely distributed, and measures are also under way to set up spaces to make written declarations on health insurance cards and driver's licenses. You can also register your intention through the Internet, from your computer and mobile phone. (Registration of intention is limited to people living in Japan. However, it is open to people of all nationalities.)
Your intentions can save another person's life.
